RHST: Toronto Owes Everything to Columbus

Red Headed Step Thoughts on a Tuesday...the title alone should get me in trouble...
Stadia Magazine has included Crew Stadium among their ten notable stadiums from the past decade. Once you get over the amusement of seeing the Crew's home on the same page as the new Wembley, you quickly realize the magazines point. Crew Stadium is important and most MLS fans realize that...but some would never admit it. In fact if you ever want to piss off a Toronto fan, make them admit BMO Field wouldn't exist without Crew Stadium...and if you are feeling brave try to get them to admit their team likely wouldn't exist if not for Crew Stadium.
Fans in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Salt Lake, Philadelphia, Chicago, Colorado, and Kansas City owe a level of appreciation to Crew Stadium. Soccer-specific stadiums exist in the US because Crew Stadium exist...yes there are additional reasons and you could argue that maybe another stadium would have opened the door but the fact remains that Crew Stadium was the first and it deserves the recognition. Even if that bastard Clark Hunt put a stage in the end-line and it has a white-picket fence on the other end of the stadium. I do think Stadia missed one important detail...there is every reason to believe that the pitch at Crew Stadium is better than the pitch at Wembley. That issue aside I would be remiss if I didn't mention what might be Crew Stadium's greatest contribution to American soccer. We must give the stadium the recognition it deserves for helping create what might be the greatest border war since Bleeding Kansas...Bill Archer v Canada.
And in other news, Don Garber insist David Beckham will return to MLS after the World Cup. Let me just say I'm thrilled by this news...but I feel Garber should be more focused on making sure there is a league for Beckham to return to at this point. One thing at a time Don, there will be plenty of time for milking Beckham's money lactating teets later. Put on your Superman underoos and save your league first.
Finally Sid Lowe bingo is awesome. That is all.

Lamar Hunt Crew and post-Lamar Hunt Crew do need to be separated though. The team lost its forward thinking aggressive FO style when he passed away.
Reece
Reese,
Two supporters shields, and MLS Cup and A CONCACAF Champion's League quarterfinals appearance since St. Lamar passed all say that you're absolutely wrong.
Mike
Mike,
The Revs are consistently competitive despite Bob Kraft's obvious lack of interest. The Crew's lowballing of GBS, and from everything we have heard regarding the CBA/Salary cap put the Crew in the conservative owners camp. However, if you recall Lamar was one of the few/only original owners calling for more investment rather than bunkering down in the late 90s early 00s. So while I'm happy for you and your silverware you are, in fact, wrong.
Reece, not Reese :)
Mike,
You epitomize a typical Columbus fan right now. To you and your type Crew success on the scoreboard means that the Crew are a positive organization on the business side of things too.
One has nothing to do with the other. God help you all when, inevitably the MASSIVE! become the MEDIOCRE! like 90% of the teams in this league.
The CC FO is a CF
Damn it stinks of MASSIVE jealousy in here. Must be TFC fans or something.
