Where Twitter, Soccer and Comedy Meet On the Other Side

One of the fun aspects about the growth of the football/soccer community of Twitter is the amusing characters and individuals who have appeared on the social network. The goal of this post is to try and highlight some of the twitter accounts that I've found to be worth following for not only the quality they produce 140 characters or less at a time, but also by how much they make me laugh.

Much like the US Constitution, this will be a living document and I'm open to suggestions and recommendations as to who should join the list. I'm sure I've missed some follow worthy accounts, not merchant accounts, so I'm counting on my counting on my readers to help fill out the list as I continue searching as well of course.


Characters

@Special1TV - Star and Host of maybe the greatest television show in the history of television shows. Despite not being on the air for over a year, The Special One still holds the attention of fans across the globe. His last tweet from early February said he is leaving Twitter thanks to "It"...we can only hope it's a bluff.

Special1TV Sidekicks: @TheBoyLike, @Sven_Manager and @RonniePuppet - The Special One's trip of sidekicks who regularly join on with Twitter hi-jinks. Whether it's The Boy's brilliant commentary, the attempts by "It" to undermine and ridicule the Special One or Ronnie's rhymes, they are all worth the follow.

@FIFASepp - The Sith Lord of Football spends most of his time fighting with people that either think they are being funny or actually think this account is actually Sepp Blatter. Either way he has some amusing moments worth checking out.

@BootlegDonG - A new addition to the Twitter community, Bootleg Don Garber is off to a good start and is showing promise. The current labor strife in MLS should provide him with plenty of material.

@ZombieJaqua - Arguably my favorite character on Twitter. He's the zombie doppelganger of Sounders forward Nate Jaqua and he loves football and BRAAAINNSSSSSS!

@wilcothecat - America's Favorite Furry Prognosticator...Mr. Wilco had a respectable 98-125 in his first season making MLS predictions. Not bad for a cat.

Individuals

Jared DuBois @jrodius - Great sense of humor, not afraid to speak the truth, knows his football. Sure he's a Galaxy supporter but we can forgive him for that. Plus he refers to his newborn kid as "The Mamba".

Jon Gregory @Moyesiah - I enjoy all the Evertonians I follow on Twitter, but none make me laugh as much as Jon. The exchanges between him and Mark Bright are the stuff of legend.

Jimmy Conrad @JimmyConrad_com - Just follow him...you'll understand.

Prairie Rose Clayton @hoover_dam - It's not always about football, but it usually is...and even when it's not what she has to say is still worth reading. Plus she makes a mean banner.
