"Hey we won! We're finally a winning team. All aboard the bandwagon!"
-Anonymous comment from the Columbus Pre-Match post here on my blog
From Post: FCD 2, Columbus 1
"OK - GREAT Second half performance. Dax, Eric and Shea made the difference in this game. Why 2 of them are not starters is evidence of SH's inability to coach at this level. That aside. This was a good win for the team. I am SO impressed with the play of those 3 guys. SH needs to figure out a starting line up that includes those 3 !!!!!!!" -Anonymous
"okay...here I am to brag on Avi!! I'm not surprised though. I've seen him work like this many times and in what, 15 minutes? Imagine if he played the whole game. Way to go Avi! And I agree the team is great with Avi, Brek and Dax playing together which some time ago was a dream of mine for this team. Keep it going FCD!!" -socal fan
"I have an idea to increase viewership of the 18-34 demographic; more specifically college aged males. Every time a player is interviewed on TV, listen for them to say "you know" and then take a drink. Did you hear Kenny Cooper's interview? I lost track of how many times he said "you know" in one sentence let alone the entire interview. I'm telling ya, it will be the most popular college drinking game since "hi Bob"!" -bob1007
"do you suppose SH notice how the game changed as soon as Saragosa was taken out??" -socal fan
"No SH did not notice. He would have to admit he was wrong about something and he never does that." -Anonymous
"I am not a Saragosa fan but at least he defended tonight and he doesnt hurt us at Right mid. I'd rather see Avila start in his spot but dont blame Saragosa for being down 1-0 at the half. Blame Richetti for giving up a corner so easily. We actually played well the 1st half minus the passing of Wallace & Mcarty. To many giveaways. We created and did not give up many chances.
We needed a goal the 2nd half & put in Brek Cunningham & Avila. It paid off tonight. We were very fortunate not to give up a goal the 2nd half considering we were defending with just 5 players." -coachq
"Kudo to Schellas for a job well done. There are a lot of us out there who like what you're doing, and once all of the injured get healthy this could be a pretty decent team. And leave Saragosa alone. Own goal-Richetti has scored more goals against Ray Burse than anyone in the league (which is saying alot.)" -Londrina
STUPIDEST COMMENT EVER.
"You have got to be kidding me!!! SH's record speaks for itself and I am not making this up. His record, according to a Dallas Morning News article (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/soccer/stories/062109dnspofcdbriefs.3e59b7c.html), as head coach is 7-12-12. This means that out of a possible 93 points, he has 33 points and has left 60 points on the board. What is even more disturbing is the fact that the same Dallas Morning News article has Michael Hitchcock giving SH a vote of confidence. From that article... "I think he has done a really good job," Hitchcock said before Saturday's game against Columbus. HUH? I'd hate to know what Hitchcock thinks is a "really bad" job. If a "really good job" means leading the team to a losing record, which has led to plummeting attendance, then I say, as well as the thousands who no longer attend say, JOB WELL DONE! Let me simplify for you what a coach's job is. His job is to field the players that he believes gives the team the best chance to win. He does that by preparing the team mentally and physically during the week. SH has not done that consistently. Yes, there have been key injuries. However, it is his responsibility to prepare the players at his disposal to step-up for the task at hand. Also, regarding the proper fielding of players, I will use the Chicago win as an example of ineptitude. FCD had not been winning consistently going into that game. FCD goes to Chicago, plays a different lineup and not only wins 3-0, but dominates. I would have hoped this would be a huge clue as to what works for this team. What does SH do the next week? Instead of using the same lineup, he reverts back to the lineup that used the same players that were contributing to losing. Now don't get me wrong as I am glad FCD won. But, quite frankly, I don't think FCD wins because of SH, I think they win in spite of him. I want them to win as much as anyone else. But my opinion remains that as long as upper management accepts mediocrity and/or less, they will alienate present and future fans and become a role model of how not to succeed. By the way, I hope you stay a fan and supporter and, believe it or not, I am also a supporter that cares. If I didn't care, I wouldn't take the time to write this diatribe." -bob1007
"anyway you put it... the young guys came in and brought a ton of energy. It was a good win, especially being down to start the second half. Let's hope it continues." -Graham
"Sorry Bob 1007, but the only reason FCD beat Chicago 3-0 was because Chicago was missing Blanco and its 2 best defenders - Conde and Segares. I would compare their defense that day to FCD before SH moved Pablo to the back. It had nothing to do with what worked for the team it had to do with Chicago fielding their C team because they had little to no respect for us." -Anonymous
"t doesn't matter. What matters is that Hamlett did not have his team ready to play against a last place team nor did he have his bench players step-up and show they belonged on the field. Those are a few duties of a coach. FCD was prepared, outplayed Chicago, and in my opinion it was the best team effort to date. But that is personal opinion on both our parts. What is a fact rather than personal opinion is SH reverted back to a losing lineup the next week." -bob1007
