FCD Marketing VP Confronts Inferno

A couple of Infernites stood by the gate as people were coming in holding up signs that said "Support FC Dallas NOT Cheap Gimmicks" while I held up my "Bad Record equals Bad Coaching" sign. Kelly Weller came up to the them and told them that some people complained. That then progressed into an intense argument that only ended when Kelly mentioned she been with the team since December. Several other Infernites included me and Jon tried explaining to her that we should be promoting the team or a player (like homegrown boys Kenny and Drew), but it seemed like her mind was pretty made up. It was beating your head up against a wall.

Anyhoo, as I was walking toward our seats, I saw Clark Hunt and held up my sign. He read it and then made eye contact with me so I know he saw it. I don't know if he saw my DITCH HITCH t-shirt I was wearing though.

Well done Grace and all the others who helped with the signs. Fans have every right to voice their opinion and having seen the signs at the game on Saturday, I can say that they were well done and to the point. The fact that Kelly Weller is not smart enough to stay above the fray speaks volumes of the fact that she may well be in over her head. A Vice President of Marketing should be not seen in public arguing with fans. EVER. If she has concerns about what is happening she should take it up with Inferno and their leadership in a professional manner, behind closed doors.

Thank you Kelly for yet another example of why the FC Dallas Front Office is a complete mess.

@Anon - Do you know if this was why Weller confronted Inferno?

As a season ticket holder for many years at the Cotton Bowl I can say that the downfall of the front office began when the team decided to move to Southlake for one season with very little warning to season ticket holders. That is when I canceled my tickets.

The mess that they have put on the field the past few seasons is another matter all-together.
